The Advantages Of Digital Cameras
Why I prefer digital cameras over film models
The advent of the digital camera has profoundly changed the field of
photography. These marvels of modern technology have made available to the
masses the ability to take professional quality photographs on a very low budget
and without extensive training and experience.
Virtually anyone can pick up a relatively cheap Digicam and start taking great
pictures right away without spending an arm and a leg! Why? Just take a look at this
list of digital camera advantages:
- You never have to buy film.
- You never have to load film into your camera.
- You never have to unload a roll of film and reload another one into your
camera.
- You are no longer limited to 36 exposures before loading a new roll of film.
- There is no need to carry multiple cameras, each loaded with a different "speed"
of film.
- You can take as many pictures as your camera's memory will hold - often
hundreds or even thousands!
- You can immediately "preview" each image on the LCD screen. If you don't like
it, just delete it!
- You can print / enlarge only the images you like. The rest can be deleted or
saved on a CD or your computer's hard drive.
- You can print your photos yourself right on your computer's printer or a
dedicated photo printer.
- Most digital cameras come with several pre-programmed "picture-taking modes"
that make taking great pictures easy under a wide variety of conditions.
- Digital camera prices compare very favorably to those of quality film models.
As you can see, digital cameras eliminate many of the hassles and expenses
associated with taking and processing lots of pictures. Personally, I'll never
purchase another camera that isn't a digital!
