Manfrotto Neotec 458B Tripod
The
use of a sturdy tripod is essential to capturing "tac sharp" images, and
Manfrotto has long been
recognized as one of the world's leading manufacturers of top-quality tripods.
And with the release of the Neotec 458B they have certainly continued
that fine tradition.
The Neotec 358B's most intriguing feature is its super-fast setup speed. Instead
of having to release and then close at least six clamps, all you have to do to
adjust the height of each leg is grab it and pull it out or push it in as
needed. When you stop pulling or pushing, the leg stays in place automatically
until you press the release button.
Another great feature of this wonderful tripod is the way it can really can get
low to the ground. By shortening the two-section center column and opening the
legs to an angle of almost 90 degrees from vertical you can have the camera
mounted firmly just inches above the ground. This feature alone makes the 458B
well worth the price!
While the Manfrotto Neotec 458B is probably faster to set up and easier to use
than any tripod you have ever owned, at a whopping 5.3 lbs without the head, it
is not a model for the weak and weary. But if you don't mind lugging it around
you'll be hard-pressed to find a more convenient and stable support for your
camera.
