Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II AF Zoom Lens

 

Tamron has introduced an excellent aftermarket replacement for the 18-55mm "kit lens" that came bundled with your Nikon, Canon or Sony Digital SLR. The new 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di AF zoom produces images that are very sharp at all focal lengths and the wider f/2.8 aperture gives the user more control over the shutter speed in low-light situations. This excellent lens produces super-low barrel distortion and the light falloff in the corners is virtually undetectable up to f/5. The lens body is light and compact, yet durable, promising years of use with your Nikon DSLR. All in all, this is a super lens! At over $700 less than Nikon's 17-55mm f/2.8G DX AF-S, this little Tamron jewel is an excellent buy.
