Washington, DC is home to many beautiful monuments honoring our nation’s founding fathers as well as some of our most influential leaders who have served with distinction over the years. Today’s picture features a cloud-covered Jefferson Memorial, and I must say that it is one of the most intriguing “Washington” images I have ever seen. The threatening clouds add an extra dimension to the photograph, making it quite different from the images we typically see of this type.

Washington is a beautiful city in any light, but the shadows and reflections that are so dominant in this picture make it something really special. The photographer who captured this striking image wishes to remain anonymous, and so it will be. But in my opinion, this was a job well done.

This shot is fantastic Mr. Rouse! As you stated above, the shadows and reflections add character and intrigue to what would otherwise have been just aother image of the oft-photographed Jefferson Memorial. I don’t know who took it, but this is one fine shot!

I’ve been to DC several times and I always try to visit the Jefferson Memorial while I’m there. In my opinion it’s one of our country’s most beautiful monuments.
