“I think they’ve seen me…”

I was trying to creep up on a green woodpecker (no luck) in the summer of this year when these guys popped out of the woods all in a line. I turned around, they stopped, they looked straight at me, then pooed and ran off.

These fallow deer are in a magnificent 1,000 acre deer park called Knole House, in Sevenoaks, Kent, UK and have been kept there for over 550 years roaming free. There are about 1,500 fallow and sika deer there. The house is owned by the Sackville-West family and is open to the public all year as are the grounds. It’s a beautiful place to visit.
