“Sun Kissed Ice”

Winter can present some challenges for sure, but it also offers some absolutely wonderful photo opportunities for those who are simply willing to get out and about in the snow and look for them. Photographer Bonnie Reynolds photographed this beautiful scene in the mountains of western North Carolina, and she offers these words about the experience:
“Above 5000 ft on the Cherohala Skyway in North Carolina the sun was glancing
off the icy trees making them glow against the bright blue sky. Winter truly is
a beautiful season.” –Bonnie Reynolds

Brrrrr. But lovely..
I agree Phyllis. Lovely indeed, but I’ll bet it was cold up on that mountain. You have a real keeper here Bonnie.
Ms. Reynolds, this is one fantastic photograph! The Rockies certainly are majestic and beautiful with their snow-capped peaks, but in my opinion nothing compares to the North Carolina “High Country” in the winter. If it isn’t closed due to icy conditions, a wintertime drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the most productive “trips” a photographer can take.
Gorgeous!!!!
Fantastic, Bonnie!
Larry, I agree with you about the beauty of the Carolina High Country and the Blue Ridge Parkway. That area is packed with spectacular views year round, but in winter it’s truly something special.
What a great shot! I really love this one Bonnie.
Very nice photo Bonnie!! I can feel the crispness in the air. I love cold winter days like this with the frost on the trees and the beautiful blue skies. Very well captured scene!
Brrrr-you have captured a very beautiful wintry scene!
