As anyone who loves to walk along the beach at night can tell you, a
moonrise can often be just as magnificent as a sunrise. In today's
picture, photographer Karlis Caupals has managed to capture a truly
gorgeous moonrise from an excellent vantage point overlooking the
Adriatic Sea.
An arm of the
Mediterranean, the Adriatic Sea separates
Italy from the
Balkan Peninsula. Its coastline features numerous beaches and
resorts which offer vacationers an opportunity to enjoy some of the
world's most stunning scenery, delicious cuisine, and exposure to a
variety of cultures, all of which help draw countless visitors to
the region each and every year.
The next time you find yourself on the shore of a large body of
water after dark, keep an eye on the horizon. There is a good chance
you'll see a view much like this one, and if you have a camera handy
you'll be able to create a masterpiece of your very own!
