Picture of the day - February 20, 2009
Alpine Beauty

Today's picture features a gorgeous view of Hinter Grauspitz,
an 8,400+ foot Alpine double peak that sits roughly on the border
between Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Shot from across the lake in
the historic town of Maienfeld, Switzerland, this view of the
snowcapped mountain offers some very lovely reflections indeed.
Grauspitz (the tallest peak in the photo) is the highest point in
Liechtenstein, and on a clear day the entire country can be seen
from the summit (and part of Austria as well), making it one of only
a handful of places on earth where an entire country can be seen
from one point on the ground with the naked eye alone.

What a beautiful world God has blessed us with! I'm always amazed
when I see such a stunning photograph being submitted by an
"anonymous" photographer. I suppose it's a privacy thing, but if I
was talented enough to take a picture like this I sure would want to
receive credit for it. Great job nonetheless!

I found TodaysPhoto.org after doing a Google search for "photography
tutorials", and I must say I'm quite impressed. I spent well over 2
hours yesterday going through the past "Pictures of the Day", and
