Springtime in the Arizona Desert
Singlespeed Photography.
Most people think of a desert as a huge, arid expanse of sand and
rocks where nothing lives for very long, but as today's picture of
some beautiful spring flowers blossoming in the Arizona desert
clearly demonstrates, there is plenty of life to be found in many
desert areas.
It's hard to imagine anything surviving in such a hostile
environment, but the deserts of the southwestern United States are
actually home to many species of plants and animals. Photographer
Philip Keyes of Singlespeed Photography has captured a gem of a
photograph here, and he offers the following words about the image:
"The Arizona desert comes alive in the spring under the late
afternoon sun. This photo was taken in Spur Cross Ranch
Conservation
Area, Cave Creek (north of Scottsdale). For
shots of flowers, cactus
and a rattlesnake, please stop in and
visit my website."
