"Built in 1890"

Older homes have a character that modern structures simply cannot
match, and many of them are still standing tall and beautiful many
decades, and indeed even centuries after they were built. Sure, there might be
a place here and there that could use a touchup, but even after
being subjected to the elements and the years, they still possess a
certain magic that takes one back to a simpler time before
cookie-cutter houses became commonplace.
Today's picture features one such old house, and here is
photographer Eric McFerrin to tell us a bit about it:
"This house is where my parents live in Fort Payne, Alabama. It
was built in 1890. Mom plans to open a tea room in the lower level,
called Nonpareil (no parallel). The shot was taken with my Canon
40D
camera equipped with an EF17-40L lens at 8 sec, ISO 100,
and an
aperture of f/5.6." --Eric McFerrin
