Picture of the Day - June 18, 2009
"Bumble Bee on a flower"

Ron E. Trees.
When God used His magnificent paintbrush to color our world and
everything within it, His masterful strokes created intricate detail
in even the smallest of his creatures. If you're like most people, a
bee is probably the last thing you would ever consider to be
"pretty", but today's picture by photographer Ron Trees proves that
some of them are quite colorful and intriguing indeed when seen
through a macro lens.
Each and every one of God's creatures was put here for a reason, and
although we humans might have a hard time understanding exactly what
that reason is, all we really need to know is that God doesn't make
mistakes. His reasons are always valid, even when they are beyond
our rather limited human comprehension.
Here are a few words from Mr. Trees about the image:
"We went to a local park on Memorial Day week. It has been a bit
since I put my macro lens on my camera so I took it along just in
case. I was looking at the flowers when I spotted this Bumble Bee.
I
took a few shots and this one turned out the best. Even some
of the
smallest creatures are very colorful thanks to the Master
Painter's
brush!
Here is a link to some other photos taken at this park as well
as
some of our other Memorial Day activities."

You're so right Mr. Rouse. Although our naked eyes might not be able
to see it, the majesty of His creations permeates every level of our
universe. This is a wonderful photograph Mr. Trees!

I'm pretty sure today's photo can also be used to prove science. For
any of us that have seen the "Bee Movie" with our children, we can
use this photo to show them that pollen does stick to bees. Notice
the speckles of pollen around the head and the one leg appears to be
covered in pollen. Beautiful and educational!
