Picture of the Day - September 14, 2009
Burnaby Mountain, Indian Arm & Burrard Inlet

I have published a number of images featuring the striking beauty
of Canada in the past, and today we have yet another one thanks to
photographer Ursula Hunter. In the distance stands Burnaby
Mountain, a 1,214 foot forested mountain located right in the
city of Burnaby, British Columbia.
The valley containing the narrow body of water directly in front of
and to the right of Burnaby Mountain is a glacial fjord known as
Indian Arm. Since it was formed during the last Ice Age, Indian
Arm is relatively young in comparison to the entire span of our
planet's geological history. The larger body of water in the
foreground is scenic Burrard Inlet.

I love my native Canada and the gorgeous scenery that seems to be
pretty much everywhere you look up there. I recommend that anyone
who has never been there go at least once in their lifetime. I've
been back several times over the years and I plan to back again real
soon.
