One of mankind's greatest ironies is the fact that some of the
world's poorest people live in places where valuable natural
resources are found in abundance and the scenery is absolutely
spectacular. And there is simply no better example of that sad irony
than the place featured in today's picture.
The continent of Africa is home to literally millions of the world's
most impoverished people, yet her mountains, valleys, rain forests,
plains and deserts contain much of the world's crude oil, gold,
silver, diamonds and exotic wildlife. And of course there are
countless magnificent vistas just waiting to be seen and
photographed.
Today's picture by photographer Vivek Chugh features one of the most
beautiful and famous geologic formations on the planet: Cape
Point in southwestern South Africa. Mr. Chugh did a masterful
job at capturing this image with the following camera and settings:
Nikon D80
Focal length: 18mm
Shutter speed: 1/400 second
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO 100
