"Traveling down a country road"

Having grown up in rural southwestern Virginia, I can really
appreciate the endless miles of country roads that crisscross our
amazing planet. For me, a long drive through the countryside is more
effective at lifting my spirits when I'm feeling down than a thousand
sessions with any therapist could ever be.
When Cheria and I go for a drive, I can often feel the pressures of
the world lifting from my shoulders with each passing mile through
the forests and farmland that dominates the landscape in our neck of
the woods. Yes, there is just something about a long drive down a
country road that can usually set my world right back on its axis
after some unforeseen event comes along and knocks it off. How
great it is to live "out in the country"!
Today's picture features a beautiful stretch of country road that
takes its travelers through one of God's magnificent forests. In
this wonderful image, photographer Gavin Mills has managed to
capture the very essence of tranquility, enticing me to just hop in my
car and go for a long drive. I think I can feel the weight lifting
from my shoulders already...
