Picture of the day - October 21, 2008
Crowders Mountain State Park

To celebrate her recent birthday, Amy and Gene took a short drive up
to Gaston County, North Carolina where they visited beautiful
Crowders Mountain State Park. They spent most of their visit
hiking the park's trails, and at various points along their selected
routes they were treated to spectacular views of mountain streams,
waterfalls, pristine forests, various species of wildlife and the
sprawling North Carolina piedmont.
Amy snapped this picture of Gene as he stood relaxing on the
precipice of one of the steep rocky cliffs that make up the sides of
Crowders Mountain. Never one to shy away from high places or danger,
he looks as cool as a cucumber standing where few would dare to even
venture. It's a good thing that a strong puff of wind didn't happen
to blow in while he was up there!

Gene sure has got guts or....something....And a puff of wind sure
would blow him down the mountain because he is as light as a
feather. Nope, you wouldn't get this girl there, cause I'm just a
big chicken...
