Picture of the day - September 11, 2008
"Dahlia"

The end of summer is quickly approaching, but if the volume of
"flower" photo submissions is any indication this must have been a
banner year for many of the country's flower gardeners. Photographer
Scott April submitted this unique image of a cluster of gorgeous
Yellow Dahlia blossoms, and he sent the following information
along with it:
"This photo was taken Labor Day weekend at Manito Park in
Spokane, Washington. They have an entire garden filled with all
different colors and species of Dahlia. I couldn't decide which
picture to send in so I sent two. These flowers are absolutely
magnificent! Enjoy!!" --Scott April
I had a difficult time deciding between your two wonderful
photographs myself Scott, but in the end this one won out. You did a
great job at capturing the raw beauty of one of the world's most
stunning flowers.
