The Damascus Opry
The Birthplace Of Country Music region has more than its
fair share of excellent home-grown singers and musicians, and now
they have yet another great event at which to perform and showcase
their musical talents. The Damascus Music Heritage Association
is now sponsoring the bi-weekly Damascus Opry at the historic
Rock School in Damascus, Virginia.
The Damascus Opry features local and area performers pickin' and
singin' on one of the oldest and most-loved stages in the area. Due
to its amazing scenery, world-class trails and friendly people, the
town of Damascus has long been a favorite destination for hikers,
bikers and those who love the outdoors, and now with the Opry
Damascus' visitors have yet another exciting activity to enjoy!
During last night's inaugural concert, the Damascus Opry featured
two very good local Bluegrass bands, Gettin' Better and
Free Grass. Both groups delighted the audience by pickin' and
singin' a number of great tunes, and plenty of applause was heard
all throughout the show. Gettin' Better took the stage first... |

With Free Grass hot on their heels. It was hard to tell who enjoyed
the show the most: the performers or the audience! I guess it
doesn't really matter because there were plenty of smiles to go
around! |

If you enjoy listening to great live music, you owe it to
yourself to check out the Damascus Opry for yourself. The next show
will be on March 23 at 7pm. We look forward to seeing you next time
at the beautiful Rock School in Damascus, Virginia!
