January 26, 2008 The dark and lonely road

As we go through life we occasionally find ourselves entering a
period when our spirits are low and every road seems dark and
lonely, a narrow ribbon of security snaking its way among the trees
in a dark forest. Before we even realize it we are trodding along,
peering often into the woods and over our shoulders as if evil might
strike at any moment.
These are the times when satan is trying his very best to crack our
Christian foundation, causing us to pause and think about our lives
and weigh within our hearts whether or not we really deserve all the
good things that our blessed Lord has waiting for us up in
Heaven.
The truth is that we are all sinners who live each day with Adam's
fallen blood coursing through our veins, and not one of us
deserves to go to heaven. But thankfully, Jesus had made a way
for us to transcend our lives of sin and go to heaven anyway by
simply accepting the free gift of life made available by the
shedding of His own sinless blood on the cross at Calvary.
It's important for those of us who have been saved to remember that
our Heavenly Father is all the light we will ever need, and if we
strive to follow the path He has laid out for us, our journey will
end in a glorious place unlike any we have ever seen. But it's even more
important for those who haven't yet accepted Jesus as their
personal Saviour to do so right away.
After all, while we Christians might find ourselves on that dark and
lonely road on occasion, our ultimate destination will most
assuredly be
bright and filled with boundless joy. But those who fail to repent
of their sins will follow an even darker road straight into the pits
of hell. Don't follow that road. Instead,
click here to find out how you can receive Jesus' precious gift
of salvation and get started on your journey down the right
road.
