Dave Vaught Performing A Magic Trick

Saltville, Virginia native Dave Vaught is one of the most
talented individuals you'll ever meet. When he's performing with the
popular Bluegrass music group
The VW Boys, he
masterfully picks his guitar and sings with an amazing vocal range
that spans all the way from a deep, deep bass to the highest tenor.
Along with partners Tim White and Larry McPeak, Dave brings
Bluegrass to life with a unique sound that is just about as close to
perfect as you can get.
But Dave's amazing talents certainly aren't limited to music. He is
also an accomplished magician who often spices up the VW Boys' shows
with several feats of magic. Such was the case during last
night's special Friday edition of
The Pickin'
Porch Show where he treated the audience to three astounding
close-up magic tricks.
Dave loves to work with money, especially if it happens to
belong to someone else! During last night's show he asked if anyone
in the audience had a $100 bill, and after a bit of coaxing (well,
begging), the nice lady in today's picture said yes. He invited her
up onto the stage where he then proceeded to work a bit of magic on
her hard-earned cash...
After the lady had written her name on the bill, Dave did a little
sleight of hand with it and then sealed it up inside a white
envelope and set it ablaze! He held the burning envelope in his hand
until it was practically gone before throwing the smoldering remains
onto the floor. It's a good thing the fire marshal wasn't in the
audience!
Just when it looked like the nice lady's $100 bill was gone for
good, Dave reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a sealed
yellow envelope. He opened it up and pulled out the lady's $100
bill, complete with her signature. He then handed the money back to the
lady, she exited the stage, and the music of The VW Boys picked right up where it left off.
In a nutshell, it was a typical VW Boys show featuring plenty of
great Bluegrass music, side-splitting comedy, and the mesmerizing
prestidigitation of Dave Vaught. And then to top it all off the
wonderful Bluegrass group
The Lost & Found took the stage and gave a
very entertaining performance of their own! As always, everyone in
attendance enjoyed a wonderful evening of family entertainment at
The Pickin' Porch!
