Picture of the day -
December 25, 2007
Dear Jesus...
As most of you know, I never feature a photograph on
Christmas day because I believe that no image visible to the human
eye can adequately reflect the meaning and importance of this
special day. Instead, I offer the following "mental" picture:
Dear Jesus,
On this most holy of days, I want to take a few moments to thank you
for some of the wonderful gifts that you have given me over the
years, and continue to give me day by day....
When I am sad, you give me happiness.
When I am lonely, you give me companionship.
When I am worried, you give me peace.
When I am grieved, you give me comfort.
When I am weary, you give me rest.
When I am poor, you bless me with riches.
When I am rich, you bless me with humility.
When I sin, you offer me your forgiveness.
When I can see no way out, you give me hope.
But Jesus, most importantly of all, when I was lost,
you gave me salvation.
My dear Saviour, on this anniversary of your miraculous birth, I want
you to know that I appreciate every blessing that I receive from
you. I understand that I am but a lowly sinner, saved by your
boundless mercy and grace.
Without your love and compassion my life
would be worth less than nothing, but you came down from Heaven to
shed your precious blood on the cross at Calvary so that my sins
might be forgiven.
Today is your birthday Jesus, but I'm the one who received
the gift - the most valuable gift ever given...the gift of eternal
life. And for that I can never, ever repay you or thank you enough.
But I humbly and lovingly accept your gift, and I thank You from the
bottom of my heart.
Happy birthday Jesus, my Saviour and my Lord.
