"Welcome to the Bahamas!"

They are actually mammals, and they must break the surface of the water on a regular basis in order to fill their lungs with air. Curious and friendly, these beautiful creatures can often be seen up-close and personal by folks who venture into their domain. Photographer Pam Wood serendipitously encountered the friendly fellow featured in today's picture during a recent visit to the Bahamas, and the following is her story behind the image: "Out on a scuba diving excursion in the Bahamas, this Dolphin popped up next to the boat as if to say "Hi, welcome to the Bahamas". I quickly picked up my camera with my shaking hands and was rewarded with this image.
