"Dry Falls"

Today's picture features one of the most beautiful waterfall images
I have ever seen: Highland, North Carolina's
Dry Falls as
captured by photographer Heath Newton. Here are a few words from Mr.
Newton
about his fantastic image:
"I took this picture of Dry Falls while on my 3rd anniversary
with
my beautiful wife Kendall. We stayed in Highlands, NC and made
sure
to visit all the waterfalls in the area. I took the shot with
my Nikon
D200 using my 18-70mm lens, a shutter speed of around five
seconds
and an aperture of f/4.5. I’ve only been shooting for around
three
months and I am very honored to be featured on this site."
--Heath Newton
Dry Falls is located
on the beautiful Cullasaja River in North Carolina's Nantahala
National Forest. This picturesque waterfall is so named because
visitors can literally walk under and behind the falling water on a
narrow walkway that passes beneath an overhanging bluff
which keeps them out of the water's path and relatively dry...unless
the water volume happens to be higher than normal at the time!
You'll find Dry Falls in all their splendor right beside U.S. Highway 64, just 3.1 miles
north of Highlands, NC.
