"Afternoon Swim"

Few things in nature compliment each other better than ducks and water, and with today's picture photographer Eric McFerrin has captured that magical combination just perfectly. The following is Eric's story behind the image: "My family and I were at Sportsman Lake in Cullman, Alabama a few days ago after a great afternoon of "hanging out". My son and I were giving our Canon SLRs a workout when these two white ducks swam by. Though there were hundreds of ducks there, these two were stark in contrast to the dark water. They, combined with the the shimmering water in the foreground, made for a shot I just couldn't pass up. I call the photo "Afternoon Swim". This image is courtesy of my Canon EOS 400D digital SLR and 70-200L zoom lens. It reminds me of the simple happiness God gave many of the creatures He made. These ducks were perfectly content on their afternoon swim.
