"A light dusting of snow"

Like last year before it, this winter has brought very little snow
to southwestern Virginia in spite of the fact that we have had some
very cold weather from time to time. My snow shovel has spent the
entire winter sitting in the garage just itching to be put to good
use, but so far to no avail. I'm not complaining mind you, it's just
that we could really use a couple of pretty hefty snowfalls to help
pull our region out of an extended drought.
What little snowfall we have received has been quite
beautiful, and I have taken pictures to commemorate the event every
time a "dusting" of the white stuff came to pay us a visit. Today's
picture features a dusting of snow that added just the right amount
of decoration to an otherwise bland patch of woods near my home. I
really love the contrast between the white snow-covered logs and the
brown leaves lying on the forest floor.
Who knows, winter isn't over yet so we could still get a decent snow
or two as we head towards spring. If we do, the snow shovel just
might remain in "retirement", but my camera will be ready and
waiting to catch all the wonderful "action"!

Pretty pictures Rick! The colors are very nice. You sure are welcome
to some of our snow. I wore our old shovel out and had to buy
another one this year. I am glad to see it go.
