Picture of the day -

"Early Morning Light"

I have always considered early morning to be the most beautiful time
of the day as bright sunlight contrasts sharply with dark shadows to
create some rather surreal and beautiful landscapes. Today's picture
features a scene I enjoyed early this morning while taking a walk on
the Virginia Creeper Trail in Abingdon, Virginia.
Hiking or biking the Creeper Trail offers plenty of opportunities to
enjoy some of the country's most spectacular scenery, and each scene
constantly changes as the day progresses and sunlight strikes the
landscape at different angles. You get a different "view" virtually
every time you hit the trail!
I have never traveled the entire length of the Virginia Creeper
Trail, but I would love to hop on a bike some time this summer and
ride all the way from
Whitetop Station to Abingdon, stopping along
the way to take pictures and enjoy the amazing beauty that God has
blessed our neck of the woods with. Maybe I'll get around to it some day soon.
