El Matador Beach - Malibu, California

Katie J. Cheng.
About two-thirds of the western coast of the
United States between
Mexico and
Canada
lies within the great state of
California, and the geology of that vast coastline is just as
varied as it is long. Lying along that gorgeous 840 mile stretch of
shoreline are miles of soft, sandy beaches, numerous rocky bluffs
and outcroppings, and a number of other interesting geological
features that help make the Golden State a real
photographer's paradise.
Today's picture by photographer Katie Cheng is a fine example of the
types of vistas to be found along the California coast. This very
talented young photographer managed to find just the right spot for
capturing this perfectly framed sunset at
Matador Beach in
Malibu. Doesn't it make you want to just hop on a plane and head
on out there right now?
Whether it was due to the prospect of literally finding gold or
becoming a star of the silver screen, California has long been a
magnet for those yearning for a better station in life. For most,
those dreams turn out to be just that, but all who make their way to
the Golden State can surely enjoy the bounty of her magnificent
beauty!
You'll find plenty more of Katie Cheng's wonderful images in
her Flickr gallery.
