Natural sunlight can be used in a myriad of different ways to help
create an image that is both beautiful and unique, and today's
picture is a wonderful example. Photographer Michel Mayerle shot
this lovely flower blossom with the sun's rays highlighting it from
the back, and as you can see the result is simply magnificent!
The art and science of photography is at its most basic level the
capture of light onto a medium to create an image for all the world
to behold, and when used to great effect there is simply no better
light for a photographer than natural sunlight.
Here are the camera and settings used to capture this image:
Camera: Nikon D700
Focal length: 300mm
Shutter speed: 1/200 second
Aperture: f/5.6
ISO: 200

Subtle changes in light can really change a picture - for better or
worse. This time you hit the jackpot Mr. Mayerle.
