A frost-covered flower at Holland's Friesland Garden

Photo of a frost-covered flower at Friesland Garden.

Like much of Europe, the beautiful country of Holland often has some really cold and snowy winters, and today's picture of a "frosty flower" shows just how cold it gets at Friesland Garden. As is sometimes the case, the photographer who submitted this photograph chooses to remain anonymous, and we at TodaysPhoto.org always honor that request.

Of course we're heading into winter here in the United States as well, and as luck would have it a light snow is falling outside as I'm writing this. Winter weather makes for some mighty beautiful scenery, but I'm not very enthused about the cold temperatures that always must accompany it. Oh well, Old Man Winter is on his way whether we like it or not, so we might as well take advantage of it and get outdoors and capture plenty of images like the "Picture of the Day"!
