When I first saw today's picture I thought of my sister Helen, one
of the world's greatest animal lovers. Growing up, she always seemed
to have a pet or three around the house, and today she is the proud
"parent" of a plethora of cute little Shih Tzu's and enough horses
to mount up an 1860's era cavalry unit.
The special bond between a true animal lover and her pet is often as
strong as one with a child, and photographs like this always remind
me of that fact. Photographer Amber Wallace captured this image, and
she offers the following background info on it:
"A silhouette of a girl and her new Friesian mare on a fall
afternoon.
I changed the colors using Photoshop to give it a
different look. I was
able to take a variety of shots in the field
and down the driveway of
the horse farm in North Carolina.

Very nicely done Ms. Wallace. Silhouettes are easy to capture but
difficult to master. This one is exceptional.
