Picture of the day - December 31, 2008
"Godley Head"

Craig Gilder.
I am constantly amazed at the beautiful images I see from time to
time of the widely-varied scenery of New Zealand, and today's
picture by photographer Craig Gilder is a fine example of the type
of photographs one can expect to return home with after vacationing
there. What amazing colors! Here is Mr. Gilder with a few words
about the image:
"This photo was taken late one afternoon at Godley Head, the
entrance to Lyttelton Harbour. There are some excellent views
on
this headland, which is one of the most popular recreational
areas
in Christchurch, New Zealand." --Craig Gilder
You'll find a lot more of Mr. Gilder's gorgeous photographs on
his
Flickr site.

It's pictures like this that keep me coming back to this site every
morning. I love how Mr. Rouse brings us little snapshots of our
world that we would never get to see otherwise, and many of the
"stories behind the images" leave me feeling good for days on end.
Thanks so much for sharing!
