A colorful butterfly: a wonderful sign of things to come

As we slog through the last few weeks of winter, our thoughts begin
to turn to the beauty and warmth of spring. Before long the crocuses
and daffodils will burst through the ground and blossom, defiantly
ignoring the likelihood that we'll still get a snowfall or two
sometime during late winter or early spring.
Today's picture by photographer Joe Murphy features a true icon of
spring and summer: a beautiful butterfly dining at God's bountiful
buffet of flowers and nectar. When the butterflies arrive on the
scene, you can rest assured that warmer weather is upon us!
I know it's a little early to be featuring sights such as this as
the "Picture of the Day", but I have always been an optimist, always
trying to concentrate on the good things in life instead of the bad.
Yes, we'll surely have to endure a few more weeks of cold, snow and
icy winds, but spring is just around the corner - and it can't get
here fast enough for me!
