Photo courtesy of Brandy Carpenter. As the sun nears the end of its daily trek across the sky, a few wispy clouds gather on the horizon as if to wave goodbye to an old friend. Another day has come and gone, and now it's time for a bit of rest and relaxation. Life can often be a struggle as we Americans deal with the pressures of work, health problems, or whatever other personal trials we might be facing, but we still need to thank God for His many blessings. After all, He has given us life and granted us the privilege of living it right here in the good ole USA, the land of opportunity and freedom. And while our days might be long and hard, there are always people in other lands who have it a lot harder than we do. So the next time you find yourself facing the end of a particularly rough day, take a few moments to catch your breath, and step outside to watch the last rays of the sun turn the western sky into a masterpiece that could only be painted by our wonderful Creator. And always remember this: As the sun goes down in our neck of the woods, it is coming up in someone else's - and they just might end up facing a rough day the likes of which we Americans cannot even begin to imagine.
