Picture of the day -
February 26, 2008 "Grass & Sun"

Sometimes the most ordinary of scenes turns out to be quite
beautiful, and today's picture by photographer Agata Zagnieńska
certainly fits into that category. This striking image shows how a
well-chosen camera angle can turn something as simple as a grassy
field into a magnificent work of art.
Our world offers limitless opportunities for taking beautiful and
captivating pictures, and many of them can be found - or created -
simply by walking outdoors and opening our eyes to the intrinsic
beauty of God's creations. He gave us the entire world to enjoy, but
all too often we fail to recognize that there are plenty of treats
for our senses to be found within easy walking distance of our own
backdoors.
So the next time you're in need of a little inspiration or you're
longing to take in another "slice" of our planet's natural beauty,
don't get on a plane or even in your car. Instead, take a leisurely
walk along that ordinary-looking stream you pass every day on your
way to work or through the small patch of woods that lies just down
the road from your house. You just might be surprised at the beauty
and wonder waiting for you to stumble across it if you'll just take
the time to look.
