Valley view from Grayson Highlands State Park

Photo by Cheria Rouse.   Last Sunday Cheria and I took a drive up to Grayson Highlands State Park to check out the fall foliage, and while we were there we stopped in several places to take pictures. We found a number of fantastic vistas awaiting us including this one of the valley below as seen from one of the "scenic overlooks". From our vantage point on the mountainside we were able to enjoy quite a magnificent view that extended all the way into western North Carolina. The fall colors weren't yet at their peak, but they still provided a striking contrast with the Christmas tree farms and grassy meadows in the valley below. It was a beautiful autumn day in Grayson County and we enjoyed our visit very much!
