Today's picture by photographer Gordon Brugman gives us just a taste
of the beauty of springtime in the Great Smoky Mountains. The
"Smokies" offer the very best of America to their visitors, and in
this wonderful photograph Mr. Brugman has captured the essence of
the majesty of the region's scenery. Here are a few words from him
about the image:
"An earlier submission featured a winter view of the Greenbriar
River
in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Well, spring has
sprung,
the snow has melted away and the Greenbriar now flows
beneath
budding trees. But no matter what time of year, that water
is
always cold as ice! This image is an HDR (High Dynamic Range)
image
comprised of 5 separate exposures combined to capture detail
in all
areas of the picture, light to dark".

I try to visit the Smokies at least once every couple of years. It's
truly a magical place, just short of heaven itself. Great job on the
picture Mr. Brugman.
