Today's picture of a majestic Gyr/Peregrine in flight comes
to us from frequent contributor Ron Trees, and the following is his
story behind the image:
"This past weekend, I noticed a man up in the wheat fields behind
our home. I went up to see what he was doing and found that he
was
working with a couple of Falcons. I introduced myself and
sked if
he minded me taking some pictures. He was very nice and
said that I
was welcome to. So I hurried back home and grabbed
my camera and
started taking pics.
If you ever have a chance to watch a Falconer working with his
birds, take the opportunity to do so!! The birds are absolutely
amazing to watch!! It was not an easy task to even keep them
in the
frame let alone keep them in focus, but it sure was fun!!
Our
Creator is magnificent and He really worked overtime on
creating
these incredible birds!!
This falcon, I was told, is a
hybrid between a Gyr and a Peregrine.
I hope that you enjoy
this photo as much as I did taking it."

That's a great capture on that magnificent bird Ron. His face is so
perfectly focused...not something that's easy to do. Nice work!

Nice work, Ron! I know full well how difficult it can be to catch a
fast-moving bird in flight. You’ve accomplished this difficult task
well. Congrats!
