An outstanding view of Half Dome

Timothy W. Briggs.
Ever since Ansel Adams first began capturing his hallowed images of
Yosemite some half a century ago photographers from all over the
globe have visited the park with the desire to create their own
masterpieces featuring its many landmark geological features.
Perhaps the most famous of those landmarks is Half Dome, aptly named
since it looks like someone simply took a huge knife and carved the
left side out of it.
Photographer Timothy W. Briggs captured this wonderful image of the famous
peak, and I believe that Mr. Adams himself would be quite pleased
with the way it turned out. Here are a few words from Mr. Briggs about the photo:
"This is a shot of Half Dome from my recent trip to Yosemite
National Park. This was taken on a beautiful sunny afternoon
from
Glacier Point. The weather was magnificent that week in
October
which meant a perfect family vacation. The good
weather meant less
than spectacular landscape shots though.
I invite you to visit

where you will
find more of my Yosemite shots."

Magnificent photo of
Half Dome today!! I would love to get to Yosemite some day and
try my hand with some of the spectacular scenery there. I really
like the B/W composition here. I can see where a cloud in the
sky could have added to the overall scene, but Mr. Briggs did an
excellent job.
