Hay Bales "Resting" Under A Tree

Cheria and I recently accompanied our granddaughter Olivia on a 5th grade field trip to a working farm near Emory, Virginia. After climbing aboard a farm wagon for a hay ride across the farm, we stopped at the top of a beautiful hill where we enjoyed a picnic lunch while taking in a spectacular view of distant Whitetop Mountain. After everyone had finished eating, many of the kids and parents walked over to a large open fire to have some fun roasting marshmallows and "warming up" after the chilly ride up the hill, but several others remained near the tractor and wagon where they played games with a variety of large balls. Cheria and I stayed put on the wagon and took a few pictures of the beautiful country scenery. Today's picture is one of the photos we took that day. It features a number of large rolls of hay "resting" under a big tree out in the middle of the pasture field. The hay bales looked like they had "rolled" themselves into position under the tree where they would be sheltered from the rain and snow.
