Today's picture by photographer Gordon Brugman brings us another of
the many treats for the senses that our wonderful Creator has placed
in the mountains of beautiful eastern Tennessee. By my estimation,
that region of our country offers more gorgeous sights and instances
of natural beauty per square mile than any other on the planet, and
this picture is a fine example. Here is Mr. Brugman to tell us about
it:
“Not all the picturesque waterfalls are large, famous or even on
the
map. A small creek running alongside Sevier County, Tennessee’s
sparsely-traveled Henrytown Road takes several tumbles as it drops
in a series of small waterfalls. Barely visible from the road, it
takes
some scrambling down a bank and ducking through some
rhodo-
dendron bushes to carry camera and tripod to the base of the
18-20
foot waterfall pictured here.
The combination of a polarizing
filter, neutral density filter and a small
aperture in the
neighborhood of f/22 gives good depth of field and the
5 second
exposure time necessary to produce the soft “angel hair”
appearance
of the falling water.” --Gordon Brugman

What a pretty place eastern Tennessee must be. I've never been east
of the Mississippi, but the Smoky Mountains are on my to-do list.
Great picture today.

As a native of eastern Tennessee (Morristown) I can tell you that
scenes like this can be found everywhere in the shadows of the
beautiful Smoky Mountains. I would urge anyone who has never visited
the area to do so at least once in their lifetime. Fantastic shot
Mr. Brugman.
