Picture of the Day - August 13, 2009
"Good Morning, Sunshine!"

Today's picture features a close-up view of one of the most
beautiful flower blossoms on the planet: the hibiscus. Photographer
Gordon Brugman is kind enough to share many of his wonderful images
with us here on TodaysPhoto.org, and in my opinion this is one of
his very best shots. Here are a few words from Gordon about the
photograph:
"Flowering plants not only brighten our surroundings, they remind
us of the perfection of Nature. Walking onto my deck this morning
I
was greeted by this newly opened Hibiscus flower. There is no
better
way to start the day!" --Gordon Brugman
Here are the camera and settings used to capture this beautiful
image:
Camera: Nikon D40
Focal length: 125 mm
Shutter speed: 1/60 second
Aperture: f/16
ISO: 400
Please feel free to visit
Gordon's online gallery where you will find many more of his
spectacular photographs.

What a fine job Mr. Brugman! I have only been visiting this
wonderful site for a few days (a good friend from Buffalo, NY told
me about it), but I have spent several hours going back though the
archives and I must say that your photographs are among my
favorites. Awesome, awesome images sir!
