The Holy Bible

Down through the centuries generation after generation of Christians have turned to the inspired Word of God for divine guidance for their daily lives and to learn how to live in His will. Other than Christ Himself, no human being could ever hope to live a perfect life, but the Bible - the most powerful of all written texts - is a roadmap that can take one as close to that "destination" as is humanly possible. This beautiful image was captured by photographer Sias van Schalkwyk. It shows an open Bible waiting to be read by candlelight, the same way most people read it before electric lighting became commonplace in homes and churches.
