Picture of the day - October 24, 2007 Sunrise over a California horse ranch
Photo courtesy of Tyler Lewis Pebley.
Have you ever set your alarm clock so you could get out of bed a
little early and head outside
before dawn just so you could greet the rising sun and really
experience the start of a
new day? Well, photographer Tyler Lewis Pebley recently did just
that after deciding to pay a visit to this California horse ranch,
and the result is nothing short of spectacular!
Sunrises and sunsets are both absolutely gorgeous, but there is
nothing like watching the sun come up in the morning to lift your
spirits and give you an enthusiastic start on your day. Getting up
early just to watch the sun pop over the horizon might seem silly to
some, but if you have never done it you're really missing out on one
of life's most wonderful experiences. And as today's picture clearly
demonstrates, if you ever decide to witness this amazing event for
yourself, you really need to have a camera handy! Here are a few
words from the photographer about
his stunning image:
"This picture is of a horse ranch just a few miles from where I
live
just east of Temecula, California. Temecula is known for its
wineries
and grape vineyards but there are also lots of ranches. I
set up
about 30 minutes before sunrise and waited as the sun came up
over the eastern mountains. I have driven by this location multiple
times and figured that due to the dust and horses, a silhouette type
sunrise shot would probably turn out to my liking."
