"Hummingbird in flight"

Benjamin Earwicker.
The hummingbird is one of the most intriguing creatures on
the planet. These pint-sized aviators have the ability to both
hover like a helicopter actually and fly backwards! I just
love to sit in a porch swing on a breezy summer day and watch the
neighborhood hummingbirds flitter hither and yon as they compete
with one another over a few sips of delectable nectar from a feeder.
Photographer Benjamin Earwicker captured this image of a cute little
hummingbird in flight as it was going about the business that
hummingbirds tend to conduct. I find it amazing that he can hover in
place with his wings flapping at 60 times per second while his tiny
body appears completely motionless. What grace and beauty these
little friends of ours possess!
