"Hummingbird in flight"

These pint-sized aviators have the ability to both hover like a helicopter actually and fly backwards! I just love to sit in a porch swing on a breezy summer day and watch the neighborhood hummingbirds flitter hither and yon as they compete with one another over a few sips of delectable nectar from a feeder. Photographer Benjamin Earwicker captured this image of a cute little hummingbird in flight as it was going about the business that hummingbirds tend to conduct. I find it amazing that he can hover in place with his wings flapping at 60 times per second while his tiny body appears completely motionless.
