"Imminent Storm"

Photo of a storm moving in on a poppy field.
Photo courtesy of Kevin Tuck.         (Click on the photo for a larger view)

Today's picture by photographer Kevin Tuck is a veritable study in contrasts. For example, this poppy field in Hampshire, England is very colorful and bright while the storm cloud rolling in in the distance is a deep, dark gray. As you can see, if you combine the talents of a skilled photographer with a dramatic landscape, the result can be quite striking!

Here are the camera and settings used to capture this image:
    Camera: Canon EOS 400D
    Focal length: 18mm
    Shutter speed: 1/250 second
    Aperture: f/10
    ISO: 400

Poppies are such beautiful flowers. I have them growing in my garden but they are nothing like the ones in this picture. Gorgeous.
