"Into the light"

Photo and narrative by
Gordon
Brugman.

This is an experiment in which a black and white subject "escapes"
into the world of color. I wanted to create an image that summed up
the feelings of discovery and freedom I experience when I head out
with my camera to capture the world around me.
I'll be grateful until the day I die for having been given the
opportunity to learn photography. It has taught me so much more than
"exposure" and "composition". It has opened my eyes to details I
never noticed before. It taught me there is beauty in all things if
I give it a chance to express itself. And, most importantly, it
taught me to look beyond the surface to the heart and soul of my
subjects, for it is there that the real light that illuminates our
world and our lives resides.
Thanks for letting me share my daily
discoveries with all of you, and enjoy your daily walk in the light!

What an interesting effect you have created here Mr. Brugman! I'd
love to know how to do this.
