Springtime in the Italian Alps

Photo courtesy of Matteo Di Nicola. As today's picture shows, spring is a beautiful time of the year in many places around the world. Photographer Matteo Di Nicola took this wonderful photograph while visiting the Alps of northern Italy. He apparently timed his visit just right too since the wildflowers were in full bloom and the grass had already turned a beautiful shade of green. Typical of Alpine peaks, he found the mountaintops still capped with snow left over from the long winter, and many of them will remain that way throughout the summer.
