Picture of the Day - May 11, 2009

Right now is planting time all across America, and farmers
everywhere are getting their tractors ready for action. Photographer
Ron Trees took advantage of a great opportunity to "shoot" this
Deere (John Deere, that is), and the following is his story behind
the image:
"Every year about this time, the farmers start pulling out the
big
equipment and start working the fields. We have wheat fields all
around us and see this work taking place on a daily basis around
our
home. The farmer that owns this tractor has been using this
one for
maybe three years now. I honestly know very little about
them, but
they are pretty impressive to watch as they pull
different large
plows around. They are real work horses.
I happened to be home the other day when the farmer pulled up
and
got in his truck and left. I had been wanting to get a picture
of
this tractor for a long time now and it seemed the perfect
opportunity. I decided to try the HDR effect with several of the
photos I took and I really liked this one. I hope that you enjoy it

The farmers that drive these big tractors around spend many
hours
behind the wheel. But all of their work would be in vain
without our
Heavenly Father sending the sunshine and the rain.

Great work on the HDR, Ron. You’ve really brought out the texture in
the clouds and still maintained the scenes realism. HDRs can go way
“over the top,” but this is just right. Cool image!
