A colorful Key West sunrise

Back in the summer I featured a stunning
Key
West sunset that prompted a number of visitors to comment on the
rich colors. Well, as you can see in today's picture by photographer
Laura Leavell, the
Florida Keys boast some pretty magnificent sunrises as well!
The entire coastline of
Florida offers one spectacular view after
another, making the southernmost "continental" U.S. state a
veritable paradise for photographers and vacationers alike. But when
it comes to sheer exquisite beauty, Key West and the rest of the
Keys are in a class all by themselves!
Ernest Hemingway,
one of the 20th century's great writers, once described the archipelago as
"the one true Heaven on Earth".
One of these days Cheria and I will take a little trip down the
coast and check out those amazing South Florida sunrises and sunsets
for ourselves, but for now we'll just pull up the "Picture of the
Day" on occasion and do a little daydreaming.
