The colors of fall on "Liberty Green"

Photographs of spectacular autumn scenery are pouring in from around
the country this year, and when I see a scene as gorgeous as this
one I just have to publish it! Today's picture, submitted by photographer Vic Zigmont, features
the breathtaking colors of the autumn leaves on
Clinton, Connecticut's Liberty Green, and
the following is his story behind the image:
"This photo was taken at Liberty Green in the town of Clinton,
Connecticut this fall during peak color in our area. I took the
photo at sunset to get the warm light on the leaves. The green
is
typical of what is seen in small town New England with its
Civil War
monument, flag pole and cannon. The green is used
for various town
activities, craft fairs, and for just a quiet place
to sit."
--Vic Zigmont
New England is famous the world over for its magnificent fall
colors, and it appears that the region fared a lot better in the
"leaf peeping" department this year than my neck of the woods did. I
have often heard it said that a drive through New England during the
fall is one of the most satisfying vacations one can take, and
photos like this one really whet my appetite for a New England
vacation of my own!
