"Lucy"

Some of the best stories in American literature are about the special
relationships between little boys and their dogs, and today's
picture sort of belongs in that category. Here is photographer Kevin Liechty to tell you about it:
"This is a photo of my 9 year old Son's new puppy. We got her
Saturday and my Son named her Lucy. I was just following her
around
in the yard as she explored, not really trying to get
creative. This
is pretty much straight from the camera, which
is a Nikon D80 with a Nikkor 18-200mm lens. I liked this one
because Lucy looked like she
was playing to the camera."
--Kevin Liechty
Lucy reminds me a great deal of my own dog
Houdini,
a beautiful 150 pound Great Pyrenees. If her
personality turns out to be anything like his, she and her new
"master" will enjoy plenty of great times together!
